*** Dinner and a Show ***
Here's the poster that was used to advertise the show,
This was a night to remember! The Cajun dinner, prepared by Master Chef Tom Ciapi, was incredible. The Shrimp Gumbo was flawless, the Jambalaya was seasoned perfectly, the Pan Spooned Cornbread and Dirty Rice were tasty complements to the dinner and the Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce dessert was to live twice for!
The menu got the good times rolling and the Bad Cat Band's music kept the party going. Wonderful vocals and deft instrumental handling had people at the tables shushing each other so they could listen, yet the music was at just the right volume to allow comfortable eating, talking and listening all at once, and, on top of it all, the music went with the dinner, perfectly matching the mood.
And then there was Magic. Chris Walden performed feats to amaze and to astound his audience, all delivered with the boyish excitement and charm of a kid on his first visit to a magic shop. Ok, how did that ten dollar bill get into that orange? And how come the lady didn't fall when he took the chair out from under her legs? And how in the world did he trade places with his assistant locked in the Houdini's trunk, and, by the way, was that really Houdini's trunk? Inquiring minds wanted to know, but they weren't getting any hints.
A young girl standing close to me asked if Chris "used real magic." Yes, I told her, as far as I was concerned, his magic is as real as it gets.
